THE SIR JULIAN HODGE CENTRE This purpose built hostel is situated in Broadway, Roath, and accepts people "off the street", vacancies permitting. The only criteria being that they are 18 plus, single and homeless. Staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. COMMUNITY HOUSES These nine houses are communal, in that residents share the kitchen, bathroom and lounge, but have their own bedroom; This allows people to have a greater degree of independence than is usual in a hostel setting. There is a team of Project Workers, working from Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, SHORELINE PROJECT The Shoreline Project provides accommodation for homeless people who have long histories of alcohol dependence and street drinking. The high quality accommodation provides a secure, supported and permanent environment that is 'wet' with its emphasis on supporting residents in their chosen lifestyles.
Training and Development Projects
For those residents finding themselves with little or nothing to do with their time, we can provide information on courses run by other organisations as well as those run by ourselves, thereby improving and enhancing residents future prospects. This and other information is co-ordinated by our L.E.G.S. Project (Leisure, Education, Guidance and Support). | The thrust of the work - and the tenor of the whole organisation is of a sense of achievement, an emphasis on the positive and a sense of direction.
